Julia Benz's distinctive style embodies the painting of a new generation. She is an artist who engages deeply with the relationships between color, light, and space. Benz explores the relationship between traditional painting techniques and modern media environments, combining additive and subtractive processes to create complex, dynamic compositions. Benz received her artistic training at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and the University of the Arts Berlin, where she completed her Master’s degree in painting in 2015 under the guidance of Professor Burkhard Held. This education enabled her to blend urban influences with traditional painting techniques. Her art invites viewers to experience the intricate dimensions of color and light and to establish an emotional connection with the multi-faceted aspects of her works. Through the intentional use of light, structure, and movement, she expands the boundaries of painting, creating new visual experiences that innovatively incorporate and transform space.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, and she has participated in projects and workshops in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut in countries such as Brazil, Thailand, Finland, France, Sudan, and Uganda.
