When the artwork and the outside world connect and become one. It is uncontrollable in which color the work is presented, at the same time the environment becomes part of it and vice versa. A visual break in painting.
“Prism” is a site-specific installation created for the summer exhibition at the former Casino on Lake Wörthersee. Presented by the Gerald Hartinger Gallery from Vienna, it seamlessly integrates into its surroundings. Sunlight reflects off the dichromatic film-coated acrylic glass panels, creating a captivating play of light. The film acts like a prism, breaking the light into a spectrum of vibrant colors while simultaneously reflecting everything within the space. So I connect this with my painting on the acrylic glass panels to establish a relationship between my artwork, the light, and the environment.
„These are ten* geometric plexiglass panels painted on both sides that take the viewer on a journey into the world of colors and envelop both indoor and outdoor spaces in a colorful light. The panels are supported by geometric shapes made of colorful dichroic film attached to the window panes. The sensory and work impression varies depending on the light conditions, the viewer’s point and the self-movement of the plexiglass plates. Reflections, shadows, reflections, viewers-by, passers-by, interior and exterior space – everything becomes an integral part of the work without being able to control it intentionally.“
